Acquisition of Bishopswood Golf Course
I would like to thank all those members who attending the recent meeting, and those that have since responded.
I would advise the membership that the pledges received falls well short of the asking price, and therefore we have advised Savills that we will not be making an offer to buy the course.
The Club Committee, will now on your behalf look to negotiate with the successful purchaser to ensure the longevity of the Golf Club.
I would again like to thank those members of the working group and others with whom dialogue has been made for their efforts, which unfortunately were in vain.
Kevin Fleet
Club President.

Notice to Members
Further to my first communication, this is a short note to update the membership on the sale of Bishopswood Golf Course.
Last Friday 12th September the initial sales brochure was released by Savills, the agents acting for the sale. This provided details of the business for sale, plus a brief summary of the trading performance in the last three years.
They advised that more detailed figures were available to seriously interested parties, subject to the signing of a confidentiality agreement.
I am pleased to advise that the Club are proceeding as required to obtain this further information, thereby enabling us to fully understand the income and expenditure and the viability in securing a purchase from the owners.
We are informed by Savills that this further information will be available within the next fortnight.

Notice to Members
There are many rumours flying around regarding the sale of Bishopswood Golf Course, what is fact is that your Committee is already exploring the options to undertake the purchase on behalf of the membership.
A small working party has been established by the Committee, using the experience of our membership, in areas deemed appropriate to explore our options.
The group have already registered the Club’s intentions, with the agents conducting the sale and we now await the sellers’ pack. This is not expected to be available until mid September.
Further updates will be issued by the Committee to ensure the membership is informed as they develop.

Use of GPS Measuring Devices:
A player at Bishopswood Golf Club may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only.
If, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or
measure other conditions that might affect his play (eg gradient, windspeed, temperature, etc),
the player is in breach of Rule 14.3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such
additional function is actually used.
