THE COURSE HISTORY
It is a testing Par 72 (S.S.S. 71), 6474 yard (18 holes), and includes many challenges to suit all categories of
golfer.
Bishopswood Golf Course was the brainchild of George Blake and Mike Phillips back in the early 1970's
when they saw the need in Tadley for some kind of sporting amenity. As single figure golfers themselves they decided
to design and build a 9 hole golf course from 70 acres of scrub and woodland. With the able assistance of one talented
greenkeeper the course was eventually completed and opened in April 1976, since which it has undergone many
improvements. Our current greenkeeping staff Lee and Peter work hard to keep the course in the top condition
that our members have come to expect.
